About Purgatory Line
Purgatory Line is a musical project born from the reunion of long-time friends and musicians Matt Kettman and Dave McAnally. Originating from Waterloo, Iowa, the duo played together in bands throughout the late 90s and early 2000s. After years apart, with Matt pursuing a medical career in Iowa and Dave leading the industrial metal band Derision Cult in Chicago, they reconnected through a shared humanitarian mission.

A Mission Beyond Music
The creation of Purgatory Line is not just about reviving the 90s grunge metal sound that initially brought Matt and Dave together. It’s also a philanthropic effort. All proceeds from Purgatory Line streams and album sales are donated to Cedar Valley Haiti, a non-profit organization founded by Matt Kettman. This charity operates a school in an underserved area of Cap-Haitien, Haiti, providing three meals a day for over 60 students, K-12 education, and salaries for a staff of 12.
