THE SEA TEASE, your favorite non-binary guitar shredding siren song, enchanted the audience at the 2025 Wavy Awards with their showstopping acoustic performance of the Radiohead classic, “Creep”. It had been a staple of their set, bringing the house down every time it was played. The song, a misfit anthem, spoke to the musician who as a queer, trans person was familiar with feeling like an outcast. The strong reaction encouraged The Sea Tease to get in the studio with their band Bobby Weiss (Dream Phases) and A. Michael Collins (Bow Wow Wow, Tommy TuTone, Broken Sound) and producer James Booth (James Booth & The Return) to lay down the track.
Though not a die hard Radiohead fan, The Sea Tease began connecting with the song as they embarked on a healing journey with their inner teenager. The queer, trans closeted kid inside of them immediately resonates with the lyrics and haunting melody.
The track was created in a single day within the type of intimate, raw session that can only be captured in a room with musicians you trust. The camaraderie between the artists and their individual talents brought forth this unique, searing and powerful version of Creep. With The Sea Tease’s signature psychedelic blues guitar and soaring soulful vocals weaving around Collins’ precise pocket and Weiss’ expert groove the song takes on a new life in this incomparable version of the anthem you know and love. Booth’s production is honed and precise, polishing the already stellar arrangement.

“‘The Sea Tease has transformed and bloomed as an artist since their 2020 release, ‘Resilient,’ and ‘Come Home To Yourself,’ their follow up album, is a testament to that…Come Home To Yourself’ [is] dripping in vocal vibes and searing guitar licks, the artist’s signature, it has elements that you have never heard The Sea Tease utilize…”– Psychedelic Baby
“…powerful vocals and strong songwriting skills…” – Resurget Magazine
“The Los Angeles blues rock singer-songwriter and guitarist radiates strength, positivity and growth on her debut sun-drenched album, Resilient, with The Sea Tease…poignant lyrics beautifully draped in DeBenedictis’ soulful vocals and illustrious bluesy guitar solos alongside vibrant piano, rhythmic bass, soft percussion and tender acoustic guitar. Together, the lyrics, vocals and instrumentation unearth a “desert magic” vulnerability that emits courage and authenticity throughout The Sea Tease’s seven tracks.” – The Stratton Setlist
In addition to being the founder of Golden Poppy, Michaela D. Jordan is also known as their stage name The Sea Tease. They have been a vocalist, songwriter and guitarist for 20 years and have now begun producing and engineering their most recent projects. Primarily performing as a power trio, The Sea Tease was formed in Philadelphia in 2015 and is currently based in Los Angeles. They have been described as Led Zeppelin meets Adele and have performed internationally, highlights including The Troubadour, The Whisky a Gogo and Viper Room in Los Angeles and Club Dauphine in Amsterdam.
Jordan’s vocals are heavily influenced by classic rock and soul artists such as Robert Plant, Amy Winehouse, Etta James, Jackie Wilson and The Scorpions. Their guitar playing evolved as they grew up playing blues music with their father and listening to legends like BB King, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and contemporary artists like John Mayer and any number of bands on the emo scene in the early 2000s. They have shared the stage with Denny Seiwell of wings, Fernando Perdomo of Echo In The Canyon, Philip Lassiter of Prince and the New Power Generation, Durand Bernarr, The Stone Foxes, and members of Taking Back Sunday and Coheed in Cambria to name a few.
The debut album, Resilient, produced by and featuring Fernando Perdomo on bass, has gained international radio play and press. Resilient was followed by a live album as well as two singles, a cover of Dazed and Confused by Led Zeppelin and Slipping, an original. This was followed up by the entirely self produced singles, Slipping, One Step (featuring Prince trumpeter and horn arranger Philip Lassiter), and Pills, Lines & Patterns as a lead up to the self produced, composed and performed album Come Home To Yourself. They have since released three singles, Back Into Your Body, Alchemy, and Ruthless and are currently working on their third album. Alchemy has seen national radio play as well as international playlist placement while Ruthless was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2025 Wavy Awards.
The Sea Tease has also been featured as a guitarist and vocalist on a slew of recording sessions including Ram On, a tribute and rerecording of Paul McCartney’s Ram featuring Denny Seiwell and sanctioned by McCartney himself. In addition, their collaborations include: Feef Mooney, Fernando Perdomo, James Booth, Ty Asoudegan of Fastride and Danny Henry.
