Brazilian heavy psych quartet Gods & Punks have officially released their ambitious new full-length album A Shrine By The Sea, out now through Electric Valley Records on digital platforms and vinyl.
Blending towering doom riffs, hypnotic psychedelic passages, and progressive song structures into a fully immersive listening experience, the album stands as one of the band’s most expansive and emotionally driven releases to date.
Formed by:
Alexandre C. – Vocals
Pedro C. – Bass
Rodrigo B. – Guitars
Gabriel S. – Drums
Gods & Punks continue evolving their sound while staying firmly rooted in the heavy underground spirit that has defined the band across six studio albums.
A MONUMENTAL TWO-TRACK EXPERIENCE
A Shrine By The Sea is centered around two epic compositions:
“The Lighthouse”
“Poseidon”
Each piece runs exactly 21 minutes and 12 seconds, crafted as a complete side-long journey designed to pull listeners through waves of crushing heaviness, psychedelic atmosphere, and progressive dynamics.
While the vinyl edition preserves the album’s intended two-track format, the songs were also divided into individual “waves” for streaming services, making the experience more accessible without sacrificing the larger conceptual flow.
The album was previewed through the singles:
The Lighthouse – Second Wave
Poseidon – Third Wave
both of which offered listeners an early glimpse into the depth and scope of the full release.
BAND STATEMENT
“We’ve always wanted to do an album like this and, after releasing 5 full-length albums, the time was right. A Shrine By The Sea features two tracks we worked really hard on, and that reflect different approaches to our sound. This is, perhaps, the record we felt most proud of, after recording.”
FOR FANS OF
Fans of immersive heavy music in the tradition of Black Sabbath, Elder, and Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats will find A Shrine By The Sea packed with massive riffs, deep atmosphere, and long-form songwriting built for repeat listens.
