The wait is over. The Proxima Design, the progressive death metal project led by solo artist Jake Morgan, has officially released its debut full-length album The Door on the Left, available now on all major platforms as of September 18, 2026.
Following a year-long rollout of carefully constructed singles, the complete vision is now fully revealed. The Door on the Left delivers a cohesive and unrelenting statement of intent, blending progressive metal complexity with the precision and force of technical death metal. The result is a tightly woven, concept-driven album that rewards full attention from start to finish.
Across its runtime, the album moves through shifting structures, dense rhythmic patterns, and controlled atmospheric weight. Each track builds on the next, forming a complete narrative arc that reflects both technical mastery and conceptual focus.
Previously released singles “Tongues Carved From Glass,” “Discarded and Damned,” “The Watcher,” and “Suffocation Obfuscation” now find their place within the full context of the album, revealing their roles as interconnected pieces of a larger design.
Guest drummer Robin Stone delivers a standout performance throughout the record, providing both power and precision across its most demanding passages. The final sonic presentation is completed by mixing and mastering from Mike Killian, giving the album its clarity, depth, and impact.
Fans of The Zenith Passage, Between the Buried and Me, and Fallujah will recognize familiar technical foundations, but The Door on the Left stands firmly as its own statement, defined by control, intent, and a singular creative vision.
This release marks the completion of The Proxima Design’s debut chapter, but it is far from the end of the story.
