Join us as we explore the creative process, inspirations, and future aspirations of Exodus Rising in an exclusive interview that promises to be as insightful and engaging as their music.
What can you say about this new album? “The Book of Life” is like a rollercoaster ride through some of the most well-known stories from the Bible. It brings these ancient tales to life, making them relatable and digestible for today’s listeners while expressing the word of God in a powerful way.
What is the meaning of the album name? The name “The Book of Life” is pretty straightforward. This album is all about our life, our history, and our faith in the Lord. It encapsulates love, brutality, and everything in between. Just like His word, music is a universal language, and they go hand in hand in this album.
How was the recording process? The recording process was quite a journey. This album has been in the works for almost a decade. We faced many challenges, including finding the right people who shared our vision and faith. But then, out of nowhere, we were blessed with incredible talents like Chris Zapa, NY Charlie, KC Bonet, William “Speedy” Gonzalez, and J Slate. Once the team was complete, everything just fell into place, and the process gained unstoppable momentum.
If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick? That’s a tough one because we love so many of them. If we had to choose, it would be “Paradise Lost – (Genesis).” This song perfectly captures who Exodus Rising is. It’s the first track on the album and sets the tone with its blend of brutality, symphonic magnificence, and classic power metal spirit. Check out the video on YouTube to fully experience it—it
Which inspirations have been important for this album? Musically or friends, family, someone you’d love to thank specially? God is our main inspiration. Musically, we’re influenced by bands like Dream Theater, Symphony X, Seventh Wonder, Queen, Disturbed, Theocracy, and Signum Regis. Our families keep us grounded, even with their unique perspectives on our style. Within the band, everyone’s spiritual and musical insights are invaluable. Collaboration and creativity are key. We want to extend special thanks to our sponsors JZ Microphones, Gamma Basses, Marco Basses, Bunker Bases, and Carlos Martinez for their investments. Thanks also to Andrew Santana, Julissa Bordoy, Tokaro “Tokka” Serrano, Edwin Velasquez, Brenda Ortiz, Luis Fernandez, and Andre “Rocket” Gonzalez for their support. Shout out to Ezfilms, Recsquad, NP Productions, and NYC Grip & Lighting for the music videos. Big thanks to Abian Morales for helping with Intercontinental studio recording, Jose Morales, Otoniel Vargas, and Sammy Santos. And of course, thanks to Stowaway Distro and Worm Hole Death Records for helping us bring the truth to the masses.
