Melodic Death/Doom/Dark Metal Pioneers Explore Russian Lyrics for the First Time

USA / International — Melodic death/doom/dark metal outfit PSILOCYBE LARVAE have released their brand-new EP, “Новый Дивный Мир (Brave New World)” , marking a historic milestone in the band’s storied career.

The EP features two brand-new songs in Russian , a first in the band’s history, alongside a re-recorded version of “Hostile Emptiness” from their 2003 album Agony . This release sees the band push the boundaries of their signature blend of melancholy, despair, and rage, while introducing heavier and denser textures through the integration of Russian lyrics.

Frontman Vit “Larv” Belobritsky explains:

“This is an unusual and experimental work for Psilocybe Larvae. For the first time in the band’s history, we wrote songs in Russian. We aimed to preserve the unique atmosphere of melancholy, despair, and rage in the music, while adding heaviness and density to the sound by blending these elements with Russian lyrics.”
