Viva Los Villains, hailing out of Chichester, UK, strip things back to basics on “Hurricane” a hypnotic slice of delta blues built around one repeated finger-picked guitar motif and one simple, circling lyric. The song chases the feeling of a storm rolling in: rain on your face, wind clearing the cobwebs (and the sin), building toward that unmistakable, rolling rhythm, like a freight train on the tracks. It’s restrained, atmospheric songwriting that trusts a single idea to carry real weight, letting tension build through repetition rather than volume. “Hurricane” is proof that sometimes the smallest gestures make the biggest impact.

Northern Ireland Just Birthed Its Most Virulent Metal Export “Desolate” Is Asylum Road’s Declaration of War

THE INEFFECTUALS
The Ineffectuals Traded Their Amps for Suspenders and “Like A Child” Is Somehow Their Most Unhinged Song Yet
Just when you think you’ve figured out The Ineffectuals, they show up wearing suspenders, dust off a 1940s dance hall arrangement, and somehow make it work. “Like a Child” leans into the theatrical charm of vintage jazz with brushed shuffled drums, buoyant saxophone, and old-time swing that feels like a forgotten radio broadcast. But the sunny facade hides something darker, a man branded “crazy” for his childlike optimism, left wondering if everyone else might be right. Charming, unsettling, and dancing right up to the edge.
