Bio: JunXion is a Dutch modern epic progressive rock band. Influenced by artists such as Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and Leprous, the four-piece tells cinematic stories about a distant future in another world, inspired by the current reality on Earth.
The sound of the four-member core is further enriched by carefully selected guest artists from a range of disciplines, enhancing the depth and impact of the narratives—stories rooted in cultural and social issues, philosophy, politics and science. Styles such as symphonic (jazz) rock, progressive metal, and musique concrète are seamlessly interwoven into a unique, atmospheric “junXion sound.”
In July 2026, junXion released their third concept album The Isle of Alleys, with an immersive audiovisual live show in Effenaar (NL). With The Isle of Alleys, junXion portrays a layered emotional world centered around PTSD and mental health issues in a broader sense.
The album follows the introspective journey of a PTSD patient, depicted as a search through a vast labyrinth on a shadowy island. Fear, confusion, and the impact of therapy form the building blocks of a musical and visual journey. Encounters with philosophy-inspired characters help the protagonist gradually find the way to the exit. The album is also available on CD (including a booklet with handwritten lyrics + artwork).
