DOOMBIA releases gothy tinged Cumbia-rock track "Te Extraño" ahead of Halloween

DOOMBIA is a BIPOC-led, gender-queer Portland band fusing doom metal, psychedelic rock, and Latin cumbia into a bilingual, borderless sound. Their heavy, hypnotic grooves draw equal inspiration from Black Sabbath and Los Mirlos. The group recently released the single “Te Extraño” from their upcoming sophomore album Doombia Vol. 2: El Diablo Que Conoces, releasing November 6th, 2026 from Golden Poppy.

Sharing insight into the track, bandleader Brendan Deiz states, “”Te Extraño” is more of a gothy cumbia-rock tune than heavy metal, in the vein of Caifanes’ “La Negra Tomasa”. It sounds like a long-lost Rock en Español classic.”

Since forming in 2023, the band has released one full-length album and two live EPs, toured the West Coast, and received numerous artist grants. Their upcoming second album, El Diablo Que Conoces, was recorded with Justin Phelps and mastered by Grammy-winner Alan Douches, further expanding their vision of heavy music as a unifying, inclusive force.
