RIVER, RIVER: THE STORY BEHIND THE SONG
A nymph. A god. A desperate prayer.
Inspired by the Greek myth of Apollo and Daphne, “River, River” tells the story of a nymph who, desperate to escape the god Apollo’s relentless pursuit, begs her father, the river god Peneus, to save her by transforming her into a laurel tree.
Told through Daphne’s eyes, “River, River” is a tale of transformation and rebirth, of resilience in the face of oppression, and of a soul that chooses to become something else rather than surrender.
Her metamorphosis becomes an act of survival: a desperate escape from a fate she refuses to accept.
Sometimes, survival means becoming something no one can ever possess.
A first glimpse into our upcoming album “Unfairy Tales”, out November 13 via Kraempus Records.
