Acacia Crown Confronts Child Abuse in Devastating New Single

The Brazilian extreme progressive metal duo Acacia Crown, hailing from São Paulo, have released the official lyric video for “Deliver Us From Your Fondness”, a song that stands as the band’s most ambitious, emotionally charged and unsettling composition to date. Originally launched as a standalone single on all digital platforms earlier this year, the song now gains a powerful new dimension through a striking visual counterpart.

Addressing child abuse head-on, the lyric video deepens the song’s already heavy conceptual weight. Created by designer Manoel Hellsen (Studio MH Design Art), the visuals merge updated statistical data with abstract and symbolic imagery that closely mirrors the song’s lyrical narrative. Spanning over ten minutes and developed through an intense year-long creative process, the track reinforces its status as the most complex and emotionally devastating work in Acacia Crown’s catalog.

Driven by a dark, urgent narrative, “Deliver Us From Your Fondness” shines a harsh light on one of society’s most painful and disturbing realities. Guitarist and keyboardist Fabrício Sawaya describes the process as both demanding and transformative:

“It was an extremely challenging work from composition to mixing. This is the most complex song we’ve ever written, but it never becomes arrogant or incoherent.”

Vocalist Heverton ‘Áscaris’ Souza explains that the lyrical concept emerged from an unexpected musical contrast:

“It all started with a keyboard line that felt almost innocent, reminiscent of Eastern folk music. That atmosphere immediately took me to the world of childhood — and then the theme surfaced. There is nothing more vile than pedophilia and child abuse. This was the most tense lyric I’ve ever written and the heaviest vocal performance of my more than 30 years as a singer. Much of it is written in the first person… I portray the abuser.”

Musically, the single features a wide range of vocal approaches, layered guitars, bouzouki, keyboards and piano recorded by Sawaya. Bass duties are once again handled by Paulo Scarlet (Scarlet Peace), adding further weight to the composition. Drawing from black metal, doom, progressive structures and Eastern-influenced musical elements, Acacia Crown construct a dense and confrontational atmosphere that shifts between brutality, melody and deliberate discomfort — including the use of children’s voices to intensify the emotional impact.

Production was handled by the band themselves in collaboration with Hebertt Rodrigues (Oblivionist, Through The Skies), resulting in a modern and expansive sound that fully supports the track’s complexity and emotional gravity.

“Silencing abuse only prolongs the pain. Speak up — your voice can save a childhood.”

About Acacia Crown:

Formed in 2019 in São Paulo, Brazil, by guitarists Fabrício Sawaya and Junior Makai (ex-In Celebration), Acacia Crown emerged with a clear artistic vision: to fuse doom, melodic death, black metal, Eastern music and avant-garde elements into a singular and uncompromising sound. In 2020, vocalist Heverton ‘Áscaris’ Souza joined the project after contributing to the debut single “Gallery of Lies,” becoming a permanent member.

As a duo, the band released their debut album “The Last Acacia” in 2022, also issued on CD through Heavy Metal Rock. The release spawned lyric videos for “Behind the Silence” and “Blast Vaccum,” as well as the official video for the brutal track “Black Wind.”

In 2024, Acacia Crown surprised listeners with “For You Death, With Love,” a seven-minute acoustic piece addressing euthanasia through the perspective of a terminal patient’s farewell letter.

The following year was entirely devoted to the creation of “Deliver Us From Your Fondness,” ultimately becoming the band’s most chaotic, emotional and disturbing work. Released in February 2025, the track now reaches its full artistic expression through the newly unveiled lyric video — reaffirming Acacia Crown’s commitment to confronting difficult themes with honesty, courage and depth.
