AS THE SEA PARTS RISES FROM THE DEPTHS WITH DEBUT FULL-LENGTH ALBUM PSYCHOSIS

The wait is over. Virginia-based melodic death metal force AS THE SEA PARTS has officially returned from over two decades in hibernation with their long-awaited debut full-length album Psychosis , now available worldwide.

Originally formed in 1995 by multi-instrumentalist Paul Vanderslice , the band left a permanent mark on the underground with their Trilogy of Sorrow demo before disappearing into a prolonged hiatus. Now, reunited with original drummer Erik Sayenga ( Warthrone , ex- Dying Fetus ) and guitarist Scott Loose ( Brave , Stellar Death , While Heaven Wept ), AS THE SEA PARTS emerges heavier, darker, and more epic than ever.

For fans of early At The Gates , In Flames , and Death , Psychosis delivers ten tracks of meticulously crafted melodic death metal, blending death/doom grandeur with blackened atmospheric elements. Following digital singles Psychosis (2021) and Where Paradise Lies (2022), the album expands the band’s signature sound while forging a brooding, introspective identity all its own.

“ Psychosis isn’t just a return — it’s a continuation of what we started in the ‘90s,” Vanderslice says. “We took everything we loved from that era and pushed it even further — with deeper songwriting, bigger dynamics, and a relentless emotional core.”

The album’s dark, chaotic, and tortured vision is captured perfectly by iconic metal illustrator Mark Riddick , whose artwork complements the sonic intensity.
