ATLANTA, Georgia: Atlanta progressive metal band Sight of Theia have officially released their highly anticipated debut full-length album, The Great Dreamer, available now on all major streaming platforms and Bandcamp.
Self-released and fueled by crushing riffs, intricate musicianship, and an immersive science fiction narrative, The Great Dreamer delivers a cinematic progressive metal experience that plunges listeners into the terrifying unknown. Inspired by cosmic horror, the album tells the story of astronauts whose deep space mission leads to an unimaginable encounter with the ancient entity Cthulhu, forcing humanity to confront a nightmare beyond comprehension.
Originally founded by guitarist and primary songwriter Alex Buhlig, Sight of Theia evolved through several lineup changes before solidifying its current lineup with drummer Ricky Shenkman, guitarist Charles Von Kanel, and bassist Bill Pritchard. Together, the band established themselves in the Atlanta metal scene with the release of their Lighthouse EP and a series of energetic live performances.
As work began on what would become The Great Dreamer, the band envisioned an ambitious instrumental concept album that pushed their songwriting to new heights. During the recording process, vocalist Haden Rider joined the project, immediately proving to be the missing piece. His commanding vocal performance transformed the album into a fully realized progressive metal epic, bringing its chilling narrative vividly to life.

Drawing influence from progressive heavyweights such as Mastodon, Leprous, and Meshuggah, Sight of Theia seamlessly blends thunderous grooves, technical precision, atmospheric textures, haunting melodies, and emotionally charged performances into a record that is as intellectually engaging as it is sonically crushing.
