Between self-awareness and avoidance, NOU’s “NMA” navigates the complex relationship that comes with the possibility of change

Athens, Greece — nou (pronounced NOO) presents his new single “NMA”, the fourth release from the upcoming EP Digital Burger and perhaps the clearest meeting point between the project’s guitar-driven roots and its electronic direction.

One of the earliest tracks written for the EP, “NMA” stands as one of the most electronic yet guitar-focused songs on the record, while retaining strong elements and references to previous releases such as MANIFESTOR and Mother Sauce.

The track was written by nou together with the project’s executive producer, Nikkolas Dashy. The initial composition emerged from a songwriting game the two call “roulette”, using an RC-505 looper: each person adds a new element in turn, without knowing exactly where the composition will lead.

For quite some time, the track remained stored inside the looper until it eventually found its way back to nou, who added the additional guitar layers that ultimately shaped the song’s final character.

“NMA” represents the birth of Digital Burger’s hybrid identity — the point where electronic textures and synth-driven production merge organically with guitars and the energy of a live band.

This very idea of a new sound being born is also reflected in the music video, which approaches the concept with humor and a surreal visual language. The lyrics were written by Artemis Baltogianni, continuing her long-standing creative contribution to nou’s discography.

“NMA” follows a character caught between self-awareness and avoidance, navigating the complex and almost hypnotic relationship one can develop with the possibility of change.

The track was produced by Nikkolas Dashy and the music video was directed by Nikolas Lagos and features friends of the project, as well as the band’s bassist, Andreas Thomas.

“NMA” continues the gradual unveiling of the world of Digital Burger, an EP that explores the coexistence of electronic production, live-band energy, and alternative pop aesthetics.

nou is an electro-industrial artist based in Athens, blending high-energy live performances with electronic-driven production. Formerly known as The Page of Cups, nou is moving forward under a new name that reflects a clearer artistic identity and a stronger shift toward synth-based sounds, rhythmic intensity, and hybrid composition.

His sound moves between distorted guitars, driving rhythms, layers of synthesizers, and immersive samples, creating a balance between the raw energy of a band and the experimentation of electronic music.

While the creative process is increasingly focused on electronic composition, nou’s live shows remain intense and immersive, featuring a full band setup with an emphasis on collective on-stage energy — a key element of the project’s identity.
