Originally released as part of the rollout toward James Legendforge’s debut full-length album The Witchfinder’s Flame, “Alter Ego – The Beast Within” explores the darker side of human nature, the conflict between identity and impulse, and the struggle between the person we show the world and the creature lurking beneath the surface.

Now, with Halloween approaching, James Legendforge is revisiting that darker territory with a special “Freaky Mix” created specifically for the season.

The James Legendforge project is the creative vision of UK artist James Spreadbury, who combines original songwriting, human-created lyrics, original vocal source recordings, melodies, and creative direction with an AI-assisted production workflow.

Digital tools including Suno and related audio technologies are utilized to assist with arrangement, instrumentation, sound design, and studio effects, allowing the independent project to build an expansive cinematic sound while maintaining a distinct creative identity.

Rather than treating individual songs as isolated releases, James Legendforge is constructing a larger musical universe where fantasy, folklore, history, psychological conflict, and personal reflection all collide.
