“Day of the Dead” is one of those tracks that really allowed us to dive deep into a narrative we were passionate about: the zombie apocalypse. When we wrote the lyrics, we wanted to create a world where the listener could feel the chaos and fear that comes with trying to survive when the world around them is overrun by the undead and they find themselves lost and alone with their thoughts in their final moments.

The story follows an individual who has exhausted all of their supplies and resources during their futile battle with the undead. They are angry at what they have lost and they are grieving life’s possibilities that have been extinguished by these tragic circumstances. Eventually, they accept their fate and give a final warning to any survivors who stumble upon their mindless, hungry, walking corpse.
