Philly's THE AWKWARD MIDDLE debut EP "A Million Miles An Hour"

THE AWKWARD MIDDLE began as a solo music project from musician Chris Perry of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Taking an early interest in music, Perry started in school chorus and took up saxophone before beginning to play guitar as a teenager. This new instrument quickly became an outlet for feelings of depression and anxiety associated with undiagnosed autism. Music quickly consumed his life, remaining in chorus and theater all throughout high school.

Perry graduated from the University of Tampa with a BA in Music ,with a focus in classical guitar and voice. He also studied jazz bass, piano, and composition and made a name for himself as both a singer/songwriter and as a guitarist for various theatrical productions during this period including Rent, Les Miserables, and Legally Blonde.

Perry returned home to Philadelphia after college, where he became the lead guitarist for grunge-punk band Famous & Fallen. After the pandemic, Perry left the band and began work on his solo project, THE AWKWARD MIDDLE. He has been collaborating with production engineer Brian Mikus on the project’s debut EP, which is scheduled for release in summer of 2025.
