Seattle WA – Alt-hip-hop and pop artist J. HENRY has released “Treefort in Boise”, the third single from his upcoming debut album Everything is Glowing (out September 1st, 2026).
The song was written at Treefort Music Fest in Boise, Idaho – but the festival’s name is where the setting ends. Sitting in the middle of the crowd, J. Henry found himself thinking not about the music in front of him but about a friendship long in the rearview: a childhood best friend he’d grown up with and, gradually, grown away from.
“Treefort in Boise” is a letter to that friend. The first verse traces how they met and the second tracks how life pulled them into different orbits. It doesn’t frame the distance as loss or failure. It holds it as something more complicated: two people who shaped each other, even if they no longer share experiences or conversations.
“I write music to show people they matter. And my childhood best friend is pivotal to who I am today – even if we don’t talk as much as we used to. This song captures the importance of that relationship as well as the struggle when our lives diverged.”
The single is the latest preview of Everything is Glowing, due September 1st, 2026. J. Henry wrote this album across 14 cities on four continents after being laid off from his job in corporate America. J. Henry will celebrate the album’s release with a headline show on September 17, 2026, at Barboza in Seattle, with In Aisle Eight and Morgan Paris Lanza.
