J. Henry Announces Album Everything is Glowing
– 9 Songs, 9 Cities, One Year of Becoming –
Alternative hip hop, pop artist, J. HENRY, will release his latest album, Everything is Glowing, on Tuesday, September 1st, 2026. The 11-track record is a semi-autobiographical story written over the course of a year spent traveling after he was laid off from his job in corporate America.
Tech layoffs are unfortunately becoming commonplace and show no signs of slowing down. In 2025, the industry cut roughly 640 jobs a day. In 2026, that number is closer to 900.
J. Henry was one of them. He left Seattle with no plan beyond movement, and spent the next year visiting 14 cities on four continents – from San Francisco to Cape Town to Victoria Falls – writing a song in each one.
From those 14 songs, he curated the nine that became the album, tracing an arc from shock, through unraveling, to the clarity that followed. Taken together, the tracklist forms a loose map of the year – a record made in motion, about what happens after the life that defined you disappears.
“Traveling is a fantastic way to understand the world, people, and yourself. It opens you up to experiencing life differently – sort of like music. I am grateful I was able to tap into the energy of each place to write songs I otherwise may not have been able to.”
J. Henry is the primary producer, writer, and recording engineer for the album, enlisting the creative help from other Seattle artists to color the vision. The album was mixed and mastered by Seattle-based engineer and producer, Evan George, known for his work with Oble Reed, Yonny, and other heavy hitters out of the region.
Lead singles “Out of Office” and “Cancun Wedding” are out now on all streaming platforms. J. Henry will play a headline release show in Seattle on September 17, 2026 at Barboza with In Aisle Eight and Morgan Paris Lanza.
