vladPRomotion news/promos 07/26: from rock’n’roll to death/black metal

It’s „Last Chance” to hop on the Nashville’s heavy
rock’n’rollers ELECTRIC PYTHON train

In 2019, Nashville singer/guitarist Jeff Hime had had enough. Tired of a scene that didn’t kick hard
enough, he set out to build a band that did—full stop. Electric Python crystallized around that
mission: big guitar solos, gigantic fuzzy bass riffs, and powerful drums that never quit. Their songs
mine cult horror movies and late-night cravings with a wink—equal parts Motorhead, AC/DC,
Mayhem, and a dash of punk, chased with Iron Maiden’s twin-lead swagger—yet somehow none of
those bands. It’s simply Electric Python, and it kicks ass.

SPEED DEMON (2026) cements the band as the heavy metal face-rippers of Nashville’s music scene.
Hime is joined by bassist Bingham Barnes, drummer Chris Fox, and co-guitarist Todd Farrell Jr. to
forge a sonic palette reminiscent of roaring down the highway to hell on a Harley to bare-knuckle box
the devil. The album is full of gnarly riffs that invoke evil grins and involuntary “hell yeahs.” The music
is simultaneously complex and precise, while also feeling loose and on the verge of spiraling out of
control into a pile of bones and metal on the highway. Plus a healthy serving of towering dueling
guitar leads that nod to the best of your favorite classic metal.
The video and single “Last Chance” capture the band at their core—ferocious live energy, denim and
pointy guitars, rabid crowds, and a dive-bar pinball showdown with the devil. The winner? You, dear
listener. Consider yourself lucky: Electric Python arrived to do one thing, and they do it well—kick
ass. Will yours be next?

US heavymetallers Mt.Metal go Through The
Mines in their new lyric video

It was 2020 and the world had been cursed with illness and societal turmoil. In the city of
Salem Massachusetts, Ryan Davison first heard the call of the Metal Gods and was
informed that the world was paying the price for turning its back on heavy metal. All hope
was lost unless someone could make an inspired sounding metal band with big built-in
nods to all metal genres including thrash, speed, black, and death metal(s). Resolving
himself to focus on just vocals in the project, but requiring more members to form a band,
Ryan recorded a full demo of “Thank the Gods (Heavy Metal Came to Town)” and sent it to
guitarists Kenny Pellegrino and Chris Galat, who were ready to lend a heavily armored
guitar attack.
Very quickly it was made known that there was only one potential band name to
represent the place where the love for metal is endless and the spirits of all Metal Gods
are alive and well— Mt. Metal. And then the “Demo Wars” had begun. While fully
maintaining strict social distancing regulations recommended by the high council, 2021
was spent writing, collaborating, and recording song ideas for this new project to emerge
from the ashes of despair. Saying things to eachother like “can you write me some lyrics
for this about a dragon that’s made of metal? And also… figure out why it’s made of
metal”.
A rhythm section was formed with Matt Dix who was willing to sacrifice guitar knowledge
for bass wisdom and then came Mighty Max “Big Moment” Sloan with his drums, hammer,
and shield. By the end of that year, heavy metal morale was to the point that live venues
started opening up again locally and the band were able to flex their might onstage.
While continuing to write, rehearse and play shows in 2022, some videos for demo
versions of “Forging the Blade” and“I’ll Never Forget (Heavy Metal)” were uploaded to
YouTube . The “Made of Metal”  demo lyrics video also appears in this time. At the end of
2022 Mt. Metal went into the studio to start recording their debut album “The Metal Gods
Demand Sacrifice”. Production went slow at first as more local gigs arose with more faces
in desperate need of being melted.
Unfortunately, by early 2024 Chris Galat was no longer able to make the necessary
sacrifices to please the Metal Gods and was required to leave the mountain indefinitely.
Local bard and longtime friend of the band Dave Lordan was happy to step in on guitar and
the finishing touches on the album were near. In August 2025, “The Metal Gods Demand
Sacrifice” was released and there was much rejoicing.

At present, the band remains under the mountain  diligently mining and forging a follow
up EP to be ready for release in 2027.

Mt. Metal – serious bio
At the end of 2020 amid a global pandemic, Mt. Metal formed in Salem Massachusetts
between Ryan Davison on vocals, Chris Galat on guitar, and Kenny Pellegrino on guitar and
back up vocals. The vision of the band was to create a universal heavy metal band that
could dip its toe into multiple metal sub genres while still merely categorizing itself as
“heavy metal” through and through. Adhering to strict social distancing rules prior to an
available COVID-19 vaccine, the band sent each other demos of songs— some fully written
and others to collaborate on. By March of 2021, the Mt. Metal had already achieved a
respectable repertoire for its young age. Once a vaccine was available, Max Sloan was
added on drums as well as Matt Dix on bass to form the first full Mt. Metal lineup.
Beginning in November of 2021, Mt. Metal began playing some live shows locally around
the Massachusetts North Shore, and in 2022 were able to record and release demo
versions of “I’ll Never Forget (Heavy Metal)”, “Forging the Blade”, and “Made of Metal”
added to the band’s Bandcamp and rough videos were made and uploaded to YouTube. In
October of 2022 Mt. Metal began the process of recording its first full length album, “The
Metal Gods Demand Sacrifice”— the title cut of which is both a nod to Judas Priest and a
sarcastic battlecry amongst the band to justify any minor inconvenience in the pursuit of
heavy metal glory.
In August of 2024, long time friend Dave Lordan joined Mt. Metal on guitar, replacing Chris
Galat who needed to focus more on life at home— setting back the process of production
on the album. More determined than ever, August 9th 2025 finally saw the release of “The
Metal Gods Demand Sacrifice” to the world.

At present, the band is working on a follow up EP to be ready for release in 2027.

Progressive Swedish metallers
CORNUCOPIA promote their sophomore
album with “Nightwraith” lyric video

With their sophomore release, Cornucopia tries to widen the landscape of what metal can offer.
While trying to remain faithful to the core of the genre they wish to put their own stamp in the
tradition, that ambition is realised with “Cosmic Consciousness”.
With songs that span up to 7 minutes they go into long acoustic parts that harken back to a
progressive sound. The addition of synths on two songs as well as a choir on the last adds to the
seeming thesis of the record, there’s a cohesive feeling of existential dread but with a tinge of hope
that carries through the tracks and their respective lyrics. Cornucopia is here to add a new
soundscape to the metal world and hope to resonate emotionally with their listeners in a way they
haven’t tried before.

Cornucopia began as a project in 2021 in Kungsbacka, Sweden by the forming members during their
years in high school. They have since then recorded two full length albums and one EP, with each
release gaining more and more traction and building the band’s sound and experience. With the
release of The Seventh Seal (2022) they showed up on the scene with a more classic blackened
thrash sound, but their influences come from a myriad of different genres, with each member having
a foot somewhere else. Naturally this sound comes through in their compositions, with odd time
signatures, chords and melodic intention.
The band has played throughout Sweden but also in their hometown Kungsbacka where they
spearheaded a club called Metal Bloody Metal to help build an underground scene and do their part
in the artform. They have been recognised both locally and internationally for their forward thinking
musical intention and remain steadfast in playing and writing the music they love.

Experimental death/black metallers
SERPENTHEIR publish a full album video

for “Iridescence”

Serpentheir is a Gdańsk-based experimental metal project rooted in symphonic black and
melodic death metal. With a versatile discography of 4.5 albums, including the
phantasmagorical Hypernature’s Vines and the dreaming, ethereal Oneirism, the project
attempts to answer sonic questions like, ‘What happens when you fuse groove metal with
symphonic black?’ and ‘How would a journey from industrial to baroque unfold?’.
Their compositions are often unstable, feisty, and temperamental. The combination of a
drum machine with melodic riffs under massive layers of synths creates an effect of
oversaturated, mechanically-conducted extremity.

Short bio

Serpentheir has undergone a metamorphosis through a mostly solitary decade of
geographic shifts and creative defiance. Conceived by Maurizio Pullman (aka Dr.
Caligula), the project has meticulously built a 4.5-album discography—from the cold echoes
of the 2017 EP Undertones of Yore and the grueling meta struggle of the Protracting the
States Invariant era, to the prolific one-year from-sketch-to-release ghostly experiment
Shadow People, which has reignited the nearly smoldered out creative process.
Through the phantasmagorical Hypernature’s Vines and the dreaming, ethereal Oneirism,
Serpentheir further solidified its boundary-defying identity.
Now based back in Gdańsk, the project has finally shed its one-man skin. The fold has
expanded to include a full lineup of dedicated composers, pushing the project’s musical
horizons further with the promise to never become complacent and always strive to evolve.
With the 2026 release of Iridescence and the band finally hitting the stage, another chapter
of mechanically-conducted extremity begins.

FFO: Thy Catafalque, Samael, Tiamat, Ihsahn, Shade Empire, Dimmu Borgir, Windir,
Arcturus, Septicflesh, The Kovenant.

Full bio

Starting as a duo in 2010 in Poland, Serpentheir was conceived by guitarist/vocalist
Maurizio Pullman – currently going by his nom de guerre, Dr Caligula – who teamed up with
a local drummer, Coby Janitor.
The two hit it off and began rehearsing and refining the material, but then took some time off;
it wasn’t until summer 2015 that they finally began capturing the first EP, Undertones of
Yore. Shortly after the sessions, DC moved out of town and the two parted ways on friendly
terms.
Now alone, DC took it upon himself to produce the EP, which led to its release in August

  1. Still having leftover material from previous years, he immediately went on to work on
    the first full-length album.
The production of Protracting the States Invariant was disrupted by the artist moving to
London in 2018, but it was ultimately completed and released in December 2019. Its title
could be perceived as either a reference to mental paralysis, stagnation, and yearning for
progress that remains elusive – or to when one does not enjoy the process. It could be
perceived as a fitting reflection of the album’s creation; DC was underwhelmed by the end
result but decided to release it regardless. Passion had nearly smoldered out. A
metamorphosis of some sort was required.
In 2020, Maurizio embarked on a journey to explore different tools for programming more
interesting drums and synths, which inspired him enough to bet himself he could finish
another album in a year from start to finish without using previously written material. And so,
he released Shadow People in December 2020, shortly after moving to Denmark.
In 2022, he revisited some of the previously unreleased material from the early years. An
album that could be tied as an evolution to Protracting the States Invariant when it comes to
songwriting with a more modern flare. As a result, Oneirism was completed by the end of
the year and released in March 2023.
While the follow-up album was in the works, new collaborators entered the fold:
  • Artem Gindinson – lead guitarist and composer – who joined the project in Fall 2023.
  • Jan Nightkeyman Sadłek – keyboardist, synthesist and composer – who joined in
    early 2024.
  • Paweł Taran Tarasiewicz – dedicated bassist with a built-in atomic clock for a
metronome – who joined in Spring 2024.
Now based back in Gdansk, Serpentheir has since become a collaborative effort rather than
    a one-man project.
In May 2024, the album Hypernature’s Vines was released in full, sealing the one-man
band era with one last largely solo output. The album’s singles were treated with dedicated
art, hand-made from clay. These pieces were intended to be read side by side, from right to
left or bottom to top. The idea for this composition came from the desire for distinct images
to form a greater whole on streaming services – at least as the bigger platforms presented
    themselves at the time.

The band began working on a new album while rehearsing for live performances. In the
meantime, DC decided to publish a series of visual experiments to hopefully deepen the
immersion of the listening experience on YouTube through kaleidoscopic movements.
In early 2025, due to a relocation, Artem could no longer partake in live rehearsing, so he
quit the band; however, the group still decided to complete the material together. Around the
same time, the band welcomed a talented lead guitarist, Konrad Pawłowski, who also
dabbles in saxophone.
After many months of an unsuccessful search for a drummer, the desire for an acoustic
setup remained strong, but the appetite for playing live finally outweighed the wait. They
wouldn’t let that stop them, so Roman Grim Mechanotron – (i.e. drum machine) they had
been rehearsing with anyway – stepped up to take the job. The drum tracking itself from
Iridescence onwards is primarily performed in the studio by Nightkeyman.
In December 2025, the project’s second full-length returned as Shadow People Re-
Emerged, a remix/remaster containing an alternative version of Lucid with an extra solo by
Nightkeyman.
Year ‘26 is shaping up to be an exciting one already. With the release of Iridescence and
the band finally hitting the stage, another chapter has begun. The album release was
coupled again with a video for every track from the album so it can be experienced as a
more end-to-end, immersive audio-visual experience.
The album cover and its single counterparts are meant to represent the plethora of
influences now present in the mix like the rainbow colors seen in a gasoline stain spilled on
concrete during a warm, sunny day.
In May 2026, Taran decided to quit the band due to career conflicts, but a replacement
bassist appeared almost immediately. Paweł JJ Przybysz – a talented bassist, composer
and visual artist known from Topiel, filled the ranks.
You may like it if you listen to:
Thy Catafalque, Shade Empire, Samael, Tiamat, Dimmu Borgir, Windir, Arcturus,
Septicflesh, Ihsahn, The Kovenant,
or any kind of boundary-defying, explorative, genre-bending metal rooted in melodic,
symphonic death/black with strong prog and experimental tendencies.
