Progressive rock band The SPLIT delves deep into the existential unknown with their latest track, Transhuman, the leading single from their brand-new album, Mankind in Vitro. This haunting and cerebral composition invites listeners to confront the fragile nature of their identity, peeling back layers of history, self-perception, and the unsettling possibility that reality isn’t what it seems.
With evocative lyrics that speak of distorted reflections, forgotten truths, and the weight of ancestral echoes, Transhuman challenges the listener to question the very foundation of their existence. The song’s poetic imagery—“You see the hands of your fathers, you see the eyes of your mothers”—suggests a deep, almost eerie connection to the past, one that may hold answers hidden in the folds of time.
Musically, Transhuman is a sonic journey that mirrors its lyrical intensity. Sweeping instrumentals, intricate rhythms, and dynamic progressions create an immersive atmosphere, pulling the listener through waves of introspection and revelation. This is more than just a song—it’s an experience, a riddle wrapped in melody, urging you to read the unread, listen to the unspoken, and seek the ultimate truth.
With Mankind in Vitro out now, The SPLIT appears poised to explore the boundaries between humanity and something beyond. Transhuman is just the beginning—are you ready to look into the mirror and see what’s really there?

Biography
The genesis of the progressive-experimental body can be traced back to the balmy days of mid-summer 2018, when Zdeněk Čepa Čepička (known for his work with Forgotten Silence, Ador Dorat, and Postcards from Arkham) and Mirek Řezníček (of Split Bearing and the Purcupine Tree Tribute) discovered a profound musical kinship between them. What commenced as casual, exploratory jam sessions swiftly evolved into a meticulous blend of structured experimentation and spontaneous creation, as they delved deep into the realms of musical exploration, seeking direction and expression.
Amidst this creative ferment, a pivotal moment occurred—a realization that crystallized into the ambitious vision of forming a cohesive, permanent ensemble. Yet, the ensemble remained incomplete, lacking a vital component. Enter bassist Mike (formerly of Scenery and Archeonic), whose collaboration with Mirek in the Fobier project paved the way for his induction into this nascent venture. Seizing the opportunity, Mike embraced the invitation to contribute his bass guitar prowess, thus transforming the duo into a dynamic trio poised for artistic exploration.
Thus christened “Split,” the ensemble embodies the essence of its name, reflecting the multifaceted nature of their musical and philosophical outlook. Comprising Zdeněk Čepa Čepička on drums/percussions, Mirek Řezníček on guitars/samplers, and Mira “Mik” Valouch on bass, Split ventures into uncharted sonic territories, transcending boundaries of style, genre, and perception. Their collective journey promises to traverse diverse musical landscapes, offering a panoramic vista of sound and sensation.
