Exkil Explores Guilt and Obedience in Powerful New Single and Video “Reckoning”

In a time when metal is once again becoming a voice for the voiceless, Brazilian thrashers Exkil are proving that the genre’s fire still burns with purpose. Emerging from São Paulo, the four-piece has just unleashed “Reckoning”, a haunting and thought-provoking new single accompanied by a gripping music video — their most intense artistic statement to date.

Watch “Reckoning” now:

Bringing a raw power and lyrical depth, “Reckoning” marks the third single off their upcoming album “Violence Prevails”, set for release on July 4th. Following the explosive singles “Violence Prevails” and “Titans Rising” (featuring Brazilian metal legend Marcello Pompeu of Korzus), Exkil is quickly becoming one of the most compelling new forces in South American metal — and one to watch on the global stage.

The brand-new music video shows the band in a stripped-down setting, letting the intensity of their message shine. Shot in a dim, intimate venue, the clip captures the internal conflict portrayed in the song — the story of someone trapped by hierarchy, obedience, and the creeping realization of personal guilt.

“We’re not trying to be just another metal band”, says guitarist and video co-director Gabriel Bunho“With this song, we’re confronting the weight of choices, the pain of regret, and the suffocating silence of those who follow orders without question.”

“Reckoning” was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Franco Torrezan at Casarão Music Studio, Piracicaba, São Paulo, and delivers a mix of razor-sharp riffs, relentless drumming, and fierce vocals — a sonic punch that reflects the chaos and urgency of our times. It’s not just a song, but a statement: loud, honest, and deeply human.

Since their debut in 2021, Exkil has focused on making music that hits hard both sonically and thematically. Their lyrics explore moral dilemmas, emotional turmoil, and critiques of power — always with an unflinching gaze. From their 2022 debut EP “Between Death and Chaos” to the upcoming “Violence Prevails”Exkil is building a body of work rooted in resistance, reflection, and authenticity.

With a lineup that blends chemistry and conviction — Daniel Ferrante (vocals/guitar), Gabriel Bunho (guitar), Evandro Tapia (bass), and Evandro Kandalaft (drums) — Exkil is ready to take their message beyond borders.

“We play with our hearts. We write about what keeps us up at night,” the band shares. “This is more than music for us — it’s survival, expression, and rebellion.”
