Multi-instrumentalist and veteran rock guitarist Dan Sindel kicks off the year with the release of two scorching singles—“AMBITION” and “FREEDOM”—from his new EP THEY ONLY LOVE YOU WHEN YOU’RE WINNING (UNPOPULAR MUSIC FOR POPULAR PEOPLE Vol. 2).
The 6-song collection showcases Sindel’s signature blend of high-octane guitar work, bold arrangements, and defiant energy that calls back to rock’s golden age while pushing modern creative boundaries.
“FREEDOM stands as a powerful declaration of resilience and rebirth,” says Sindel. “This song was born from the trenches—pushing through adversity, reclaiming my voice after a battle with cancer, and pouring every ounce of fight into this music.”

The animated music video, created by Dan himself, delivers high-impact visuals with graphic storytelling and symbolic intensity. Mixed by legendary producer Danny Saber (U2, Ozzy Osbourne, David Bowie), and mastered by Maor Applebaum, the track explodes with layered dynamics and fiery guitar leads. Drums by Duane Waider, recorded at RADD SOUND with engineer John Prpich.
AMBITION – A Sonic Love Letter to Dreamers
The first single, AMBITION, is a wild, blues-infused rock track laced with blazing guitar solos and swaggering vocals. It’s a raw, unapologetic look at the fire that drives artists to keep going—no matter the odds.
This 50s-style riff rocker meets modern production and animated punk energy, kicking off the EP with an adrenaline-fueled statement of intent.
About the EP:
