BASS, MACHINES AND THE HUMAN INSTINCT
Belgian solo project The Human Bot introduces its bass-driven collision of noise rock and experimental electronica with “For Better Days,” the first single and music video taken from its forthcoming self-titled debut album.
Created in Liège by Dimitri Iannello, a member of experimental rock band Helium Horse Fly, The Human Bot is built from saturated bass, explosive programmed rhythms and fractured digital textures.
No guitars. One bass. One drum sound.
BUILT THROUGH LIMITATION
Due for release in autumn 2026, the eleven-track album emerged from a year of voluntary isolation in a Liège studio. Working with a deliberately restricted palette—one bass guitar, a handful of plug-ins, recurring loops and the same drum sound throughout—Iannello set out to create a distinctive musical language through repetition, restraint and minute variation.
Distorted basslines carry the record’s weight, pulse and melodic movement, while robotic voices and unstable glitches blur the boundary between human performance and machine construction. Short interludes interrupt the pressure like changes in respiration, culminating in “La Meuse,” a piece inspired by Iannello’s solitary walks along the river running through Liège.
The result moves between noise rock, experimental electronica, mathematical post-rock and IDM without settling comfortably into any one of them.
One year in isolation. Eleven tracks. One complete studio organism.
