Bagheera Bring “Drift” to Streaming Platforms 14 Years After Its Release

Hailing from Lausanne, Switzerland, Bagheera made a brief but significant impact on the Swiss scene between 2009 and 2014. The sludgy hardcore project features members of Algebra, Impure Wilhelmina, Menace, June Deville and Green Fairy.

During the years they were active, Bagheera toured Cuba and France and played extensively across Swiss clubs and festivals. In 2013, they won the Greenfield Festival contest, earning them a place on the bill alongside acts including Slayer, Rammstein, The Prodigy and Queens of the Stone Age.

Their only album to date, “Drift”, was released on 5 October 2012 via Finisterian Dead End Records. To mark its 14th anniversary, the band have decided to make the album available on all major streaming platforms.

“We’re a bit late to the party, but very excited to have released this album on all platforms. Some friends of ours had been nagging us into doing it, so we are glad it is now out there. This has also helped us reconnect a bit and made some of us think about perhaps working on some new music together in the future. If it happens, it could be under a new name though, we’re not sure yet. Stay tuned!”

Although Bagheera have never officially disbanded, they have not performed live since 2014.

What the future holds remains to be seen.
