Canadian Rockers DOLL Hit The Beach w/ DIY Video “Shark Bait” Off New EP “Better Days, Different Times” Out Now!

Canadian husband and wife alt-rock duo Doll are making a splash for your summer beach plans with their latest DIY music video for their track “Shark Bait” from their recently released EP “Better Days, Different Times”. The EP marks the band’s first taste of new music since 2011’s “The Ragdoll Diaries”. The EP represents not just a return to form but a significant evolution for the Ottawa-based band has expanded its sonic palette while maintaining its core identity.

“With this collection of songs, we aimed to bring listeners closer to what’s important to us—our values and our experiences. It’s not just something to listen to; it’s something to sit with and reflect on. This time, it’s less about loudness and more about the weight behind the lyrics. And for our track, Shark Bait, we wanted it to be more than a music video. It’s a reminder that creativity thrives when you’re having fun, and sometimes, the best art is the kind that bites back with a grin.” adds the band.

With razor-sharp riffs and frontwoman Christina Kasper’s haunting vocals, “Shark Bait” explores emotional predators and the fight to stay afloat in a world full of teeth.

“Better Days, Different Times” isn’t just DOLL’s resurrection—it’s their reinvention. This EP marks the band’s return with a more refined and emotionally resonant sound, proving that time away has only deepened their creative force. For longtime fans and newcomers alike, it offers a compelling gateway into DOLL’s evolved artistry.

Each track was carefully chosen for its emotional resonance, striking a chord deep within the band. Some songs arrive in softer, quieter moments—but don’t be misled. The weight remains, the message still cuts deep. Darkness and heaviness linger beneath the surface, true to DOLL’s commitment to raw, therapeutic songwriting.

Rooted in lived experience and honest emotion, the EP continues the band’s tradition of using music as a tool for personal reflection and connection, reaching listeners who find solace in shared struggles and unfiltered expression.

DOLL is recommended for fans of Nobro, SoftCult, Amyl and the Sniffers, and The Pretty Reckless.

“#1 Doll – Zach’s Picks of the Week – July 7 – 12, 2025 – Canadian Beats

“In one of the best comeback stories in music in 2025, Canadian Alt-Rock duo DOLL will release their first new collection of material since 2011’s The Ragdoll Diaries… In addition to five slamming originals, DOLL chips in an inspired take on the Deep Purple classic rock anthem – “Smoke On the Water!” “- Ghost Cult Magazine

“Doll sharpens their grit with new muscle and melody. Their return after more than a decade is not a nostalgia trip but a rebirth. The Ottawa band’s forthcoming EP Better Days, Different Times (July 18th) expands their core formula of raw energy and no-frills honesty by inviting new players and broader sonic choices into the mix. But even with cello flourishes and genre jumps, their identity remains firmly intact.” – Amplify The Noise

“The new track ‘Shark Bait’ from Doll is a blast! The world has been celebrating the 50th anniversary of “JAWS” and now we have a brand new punk-fueled bite in the pants to go along with all of the bloody hoopla. ‘Shark Bait’ is basically straight ahead hardcore riffage with razor sharp teeth, fun lyrics and a precursor to their new EP, ‘Better Days, Different Times’ set for a July 18th release. Catch it on your Home for the Best New Rock… W-J-O-EEEE” – WJOE – Findlay’s Home for Rock & Roll

“DOLL has returned as potent and as impressive as they were before but with greater impact we suggest, Better Days, Better Times quite simply a must exploration for punk and feral rock hearts.” – The Ring Master Review

“Christina Kasper’s changeable voice is impressive.” – Keep On Rocking
