Το « Harvester of Sorrow» είναι ένα από τα πιο σκοτεινά κομμάτια των Metallica : από τους αρχικούς στίχους «My life suffocates / Planting seeds of hate/ I’ve loved, turned to hate», οι Demons του Hetfield προφανώς ζωντανεύουν, καμαρώνοντας σαν φαντάσματα σε μια φλεγόμενη πασαρέλα, συνοδευόμενοι από έναν κορεσμένο, μαύρο και καταπιεστικό ήχο. Απογοήτευση, θλίψη, αφανισμός: όλα πήζουν σε ένα φαντασιακό δυστυχίας και ερήμωσης.
Ο Σκοτεινός Λυτρωτής επιλέγει να δώσει μια νέα φωνή σε αυτούς τους δαίμονες και ακόμα περισσότερα : τους εξοργίζουν και τους πολλαπλασιάζουν, συγκεντρώνουν περισσότερους από αυτούς μαζί με τους προσωπικούς τους. Βυθίζονται στο αρχικό πνεύμα και στη συνέχεια το ανυψώνουν στην πολλοστή δύναμη.
Αυτή η death metal εκδοχή του “Harvester of Sorrow” είναι βίαιη, ατμοσφαιρική και αρρωστημένη : αν τα drumsticks χτυπούν δυνατά τα skin σαν στρατός από σιδηρουργούς, τα πλήκτρα τυλίγουν τα πάντα με μια σκοτεινή, κακοήθη αύρα. Το γρύλισμα καταβροχθίζει κάθε ίχνος φωτός, ενώ η κιθάρα και το μπάσο γίνονται πιο αιχμηρά και αβυσσαλέα.
Το αποκαλυπτικό και αγωνιώδες βίντεο με τους στίχους ενισχύει το συναίσθημα της καταστροφής και της καταστροφής και φέρνει το “Harvester of Sorrow” στα όρια της αφάνειας.

Οι Dark Redeemer γεννήθηκαν στην Ιταλία, το καλοκαίρι του 2018 από τις στάχτες των Aleph, μιας progressive death metal μπάντας με τέσσερα άλμπουμ που κυκλοφόρησαν μεταξύ 2006 και 2018.
Από τότε, οι τέσσερις deathsters ανέτρεψαν τις ηχητικές συντεταγμένες του συγκροτήματος εγκαταλείποντας τις πιο τεχνικές επιρροές για να αφοσιωθούν σε έναν πιο ωμό και άγριο ήχο: ένα μείγμα μεταξύ της τελλουρικής επίδρασης του σουηδικού (Grave, Dismember, Entombed) και του αμερικανικού death metal (Obituary, Morbid Angel, Immolation). Το αποτέλεσμα είναι μια ασυμβίβαστη ηχητική επίθεση παλιάς σχολής με ισχυρή ταυτότητα.
Οι Dark Redeemer αφήνουν τους ακροατές άφωνους, τους παρασύρουν σε μια ισχυρή δίνη βίας και κακίας.

Το δισκογραφικό ντεμπούτο των Dark Redeemer, “Into the Deep Black”, κυκλοφόρησε από την Blasphemous Records το 2021, διανεμήθηκε διεθνώς από τις Sleazy Records (ΗΠΑ), Code 7 (Ευρώπη), Wormhole Death Japan, Fans and Bands (Μεξικό), Egea Music (Ιταλία) και σε όλα τα ψηφιακά καταστήματα παγκοσμίως.
Μετά την κυκλοφορία της βάναυσης εκδοχής τους του “Harvester of Sorrow”, οι Dark Redeemer δουλεύουν πάνω στο δεύτερο άλμπουμ τους που θα κυκλοφορήσει μέχρι το τέλος της χρονιάς. Υπόσχονται ένα νέο, ακόμη πιο σκοτεινό και βίαιο κεφάλαιο κατευθείαν από το σκοτάδι.

“Harvester of Sorrow” is one of Metallica’s darkest tracks: from the initial verses “My life
suffocates / Planting seeds of hate/ I’ve loved, turned to hate” Hetfield’s Demons evidently come
alive, flaunting like ghosts on a catwalk on fire, accompanied by a saturated, black and oppressive
sound. Frustration, sorrow, annihilation: everything coagulates in an imaginary of misery and
desolation.
Dark Redeemer choose to give a new voice to these demons and more: they exasperate and
multiply them, they gather more of them together with their personal ones. They submerge in the
original spirit and then elevate it to the umpteenth power.
This death metal version of “Harvester of Sorrow” is violent, atmospheric and sick: if the
drumsticks powerfully hit the skins like an army of blacksmiths, the keyboards wrap everything
with an obscure malignant aura; the growl devours every hint of light whilst the guitar and bass get
sharper and abyssal.
The apocalyptic and anguished lyric video enhances the feeling of destruction and ruin and
brings “Harvester of Sorrow” to the extreme edge of obscurity.

Dark Redeemer were born in Italy, in summer 2018 from the ashes of Aleph, a progressive death
metal band with four albums released between 2006 and 2018.
Since then the four deathsters turned the sonic coordinates of the band upside down by abandoning
the more technical influences to dedicate themselves to a more raw and ferocious sound: a blend
between the telluric impact of Swedish (Grave, Dismember, Entombed) and American death
metal (Obituary, Morbid Angel, Immolation). The result is an uncompromising old school sonic
assault with a strong identity.
Dark Redeemer leave the listeners breathless, they drag them in a powerful vortex of violence and
malignity.
A black wave from the depth, a return to the roots of the “sound of death”.
The discographic debut of Dark Redeemer, “Into the Deep Black”, released on Blasphemous
Records in 2021, was distributed internationally by Sleazy Records (USA), Code 7 (Europe),

worldwide.
After the release of their brutal version of “Harvester of Sorrow”, Dark Redeemer are working on
their second album to be released by the end of the year. They promise a new even more obscure
and violent chapter directly from the dark.
The line-up is compounded by Dave Battaglia (vocals, guitar), Manuel Togni (drums), Giulio
Gasperini (keyboards), and Antonio Ceresoli (bass).
