Crunchy Newz Interview Dark Sky!

1) Hello Dark Sky! It’s a pleasure to have you here! What is the biggest
moment of your career?
Hello Crunchy Newz, I think there have been some great moments in the
last few years that we have been able to experience. For example,
supporting the Scorpions for the first time in front of more than 10,000
spectators, or playing on the same stage as Judas Priest for the first time at
the Masters of Rock in the Czech Republic. But also every CD release or
every music video is and remains a great moment.
2) What’s your secret ingredient through the years? How do you keep Dark Sky
alive?
Ha ha ha, a lot of musicians and friends ask me that. I just think that I love
making music and I love being on stage playing that music even more. Plus,
I can be very persistent when it comes to something that is important to me.
3) Which is your favorite song from your band so far?
That changes from time to time, but at the moment I like the title song of the
current CD “Signs Of The Time” the best. On the other hand, your own
songs are like your own children, you love them all, don’t you?
4) Tell us a few words about your latest album “Signs Of The Time”.
The album was created at a time when a lot of things around us were very
strange. There was the pandemic, there were all the restrictions that made
life very difficult, not only for us musicians. We reflected these impressions in
a few song titles and also in the album title. Of course, it also reflects how
frustrated and worried we were and are about some developments. I think
the new album is also something like a new start for the band. After the
pandemic, I had to put together a completely new DARK SKY line-up
because all my friends in the band had retired from music. This time, I’m also
working very closely with our producer Markus Teske from the Bazement
Studio in pre-production. Other composers were also involved, such as
Hannes Braun from Kissin Dynamite. This resulted in new and interesting
influences overall, which gave the new album a slightly different sound.
5) Tell us a few words about your latest single “You Spin Me Round (Like A
Record)”.
We actually wanted to include this classic from the 80s on the last album
“Signs Of The Time”, but then we thought that it would be a cool song for a
music video and that such a video would be perfect for the 2024 festival
season. I’m a fan of many 80s songs and it’s fun to record these songs in a
modern and metal rock style. We also played “You Spin Me Round (Like A
Record) live at some festivals and the audience loved it 😉

6) What’s next for Dark Sky?
I’m currently in the Bazement Studio and together with producer Markus
Teske we are working on songs for the next DARK SKY album, which is due
to be released in late 2025 or early 2026.
7) Do you want to come to play in Greece? It will be an awesome live!
We definitely want to finally play live in Greece in 2025. Let’s see if we can
meet the Greek fans there as support on a tour or a bigger festival. We trust
that our Greek agency Angel PR can make it happen!
8) What’s your superpower on stage?
You mean what really drives us on stage? Well, for me it’s the sound in my
in-ear, my band mates next to me and of course, above all, the audience in
front of me, ha, ha, ha!
9) Do you want to share something else?

to attend a DARK SKY concert, that would of course be super cool too.
