Emperors & Angels Unleash “It’s Like That”

Emperors & Angels is an outrageous group of friends who matriculate from the Mighty Midwest. Destiny may have struck them later in life, but the band is ready to face its newest obstacles.

The members grew up in a powerful local music scene. Although the formation of EA solidifies the group’s first musical endeavor as Peoria, Illinois relentless foursome!

Matthew, Bela, Jason and Brett collectively have pro coast to coast touring experience having graced the stage with the talents of Alice Cooper, Anthrax, Candlebox, Chevelle, Dark New Day, Iron Maiden, Five Finger Death Punch, Hell Yeah, Hinder, Lamb of God, Linkin Park, Nothing More, Nonpoint, Our Lady Peace, Papa Roach, Sevendust, Shinedown, Taproot, Three Days Grace, Red, among others. Multiple festivals including Rock Fest, Point Fest, Rocklahoma, Summerfest and various Midwestern outdoor events. EA boasts a Modern Rock edge, although hints of Classic Rock and anthemic Hair Metal shine through.

EA is self-produced by singer/songwriter and engineer Matthew Nevitt. Co-producer, co-writer, singer and guitarist Bela McKnight with bassist Jason Hedrick and drummer Brett Huntley. EA began breaking barriers with their freshman self-titled album Emperors & Angels available on all digital platforms via INKEL MUSIC and Curtain Call Records. The album sparked a genuine and unstoppable writing duo between McKnight and Nevitt, hosting edgy raw tracks like Ready For War, Device, Pyre and more.

The quartet, like-minded and headstrong, continued to refine EA’s sonic assault in studio while finding immediate chemistry on stage. With the tragedy of a worldwide pandemic behind them, the group purchased “BETH,” a fifteen-passenger rusty girl, branded and branched out to share EA mid 2021. Gaining popularity with every opportunity, the band was ready to focus on a follow-up album.

Back to the grind, utilizing all spare time, Nevitt and McKnight began to blend writing styles championing sixteen songs. Quickly the group narrowed the catalogue down to what became the independent (Inkei Music) 2022 release Breaking Gravity. The album surfaced on playlists reaching multiple platforms to outshine its predecessor.

Emperors & Angels continue their growth in markets and the live show the band prides itself on. Friends sharing stages thirty to forty-five glorious minutes at a time, bonded by a common goal. Utilizing a new-age business model to ensure expansion, the journey continues.

EA focuses on the positive polar to all negative. Lyrically the band’s been chasing demons, finding light through darkness, while gaining knowledge and wisdom after every downfall. Now burning proverbial ships in an uplifting nature, they journey into “Ruthless”, EA’s third album release in less than three years! Needing a strong, compelling title for their mighty twelve, “Ruthless” struck a chord. Be “Ruthless” in every effort to surface and succeed on a level that works, building a team to share the same ethic as EA moves forward with playlisting, building social platforms and targeting radio. Have no pity or compassion for failure, obstacles, and hardships! EA is living and believing in a new Ruthless definition!

Continuing EA’s onslaught of releases to their fans, EA IIII is on the horizon. Believed to be the group’s greatest effort to date, the album is complete and scheduled for release June 12, 2025.
