Extreme metal force Empty Throne has dropped the title track from their upcoming debut album Unholy, premiering the song and video exclusively on Decibel Magazine’s highly trafficked website. Set for official release on November 27, 2024, through Downfall Records, Unholy promises a dark, intense sonic experience that will leave an unforgettable mark on fans of blackened thrash and death metal.
Decibel Magazine describes “Unholy” as “darkness incarnate,” with the video offering fans an intense visual journey that captures the essence of the band’s powerful, unrelenting style. Formed in 2020, Empty Throne is led by vocalist CR Petit, with a lineup of heavyweights including Mike Pardi (guitar, Draconis, ex-Possessed), Gabe Seeber (drums, The Kennedy Veil, Abbath), and Jason Ellsworth (bass, Angerot). The track is a brutal prelude to an album that combines both legacy and innovation, with roots touching acts like Cannibal Corpse and Suffocation.
After refining their sound through lineup shifts featuring icons like Mike Smith (ex-Suffocation) and Jack Owen (Cannibal Corpse, Deicide), Empty Throne has solidified their lineup and sound. Unholy presents a relentless six-track onslaught of blackened thrash ferocity and death metal weight that draws on the band members’ collective experience, offering a distinct vision of darkness and fury.
Preorders for Unholy are now available in CD, LP, and digital formats through Downfall Records.
