Blending rock, punk, and metal with seamless intensity, DeadCityMonkeys takes a stand on the state of the world in their latest single, This Day. The track calls out hypocrisy, where nature is praised in words, yet Mother Earth continues to be violated as we march toward catastrophe.
Accompanying the release is a music video that channels the song’s raw aggression into equally uncompromising visuals, reinforcing the band’s message with stark imagery and visceral energy.
Hailing from Turku, Finland, DeadCityMonkeys brings together raw streetwise attitude, gritty energy, and genre-defying musicianship. This Day fuses these elements into a sonic assault that’s both rough-edged and aggressive, yet laced with infectious melody.
The new single marks yet another, and perhaps the decisive, step toward DeadCityMonkeys’ long-awaited debut album. Having previously released five singles, the band’s first full-length is set to drop in early 2026.
The band is fronted by Pasi, also known as the current vocalist of Widows, and Timppa, guitarist from Äpärät. Both bands are well-known Finnish punk acts that started out around the late 70s and early 80s. Founding duo Pasi and Timppa are joined by bassist Mr. Leaf and drummer Mace, rounding out the DeadCityMonkeys lineup.
