French cinematic / indus electro rock four piece CIGUË Unveils “Other Side” — A Journey Into The Shadows Within.
“Every light casts a shadow. Only by facing the darkness can we truly know someone.”
With “Other Side”, French four piece CIGUË plunges into the duality that haunts us all—the unseen fractures, the unspoken tensions, the raw truth lurking beneath the surface. This new single and music video are a hypnotic descent into the abyss, where industrial rock, goth-electro, and brooding metal merge to create an atmosphere as immersive as it is unsettling.
“Other Side” isn’t just a track—it’s an invitation to confront the other side of yourself. The music video amplifies this journey, weaving haunting visuals with Cigüe’s signature cinematic intensity. Are you ready to step into the darkness?

CIGUË: Where Industrial/Electro Rock Meets Dark Movies
A cinematic, industrial rock experience that blurs the line between music and psychological thriller.
Founded in late 2006 by Yann Reversat (guitarist, American School of Modern Music alum, ex-Norma Loy) and Joanna Louis (classically trained pianist and organist, former vocalist), Cigüe is a bold fusion of rock, electro, and industrial : a sonic exploration of inner turmoil, paranoia, and existential dread.
Inspired by the raw intensity of Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly or Rob Zombie, their album Panic dives deep into the abyss of schizophrenia, anxiety, and psychological unraveling. The experience is immersive: a dark, cinematic soundscape punctuated by haunting French film samples, creating an atmosphere that’s as oppressive as it is hypnotic.
On stage, Cigüe is a visceral spectacle. With Estelle’s dark-psychedelic performances and Glam’s live body piercing, their early Parisian shows (Scène Bastille, Boule Noire, Klub) became legendary. Critics hailed their first two albums, Swallow the Pain and Phobia, as groundbreaking.
After relocating to Montpellier (France), the duo expanded into a powerhouse trio with drummer Josian Ribes (a 20-year autodidact with roots in goth, metal, and prog). Their third album, Commotion (2012), and fourth, Ainsi nous sommes, fueled a relentless tour across France and Switzerland, from Thunderbird (St-Etienne) to L’Usine (Geneva).
In 2022, Cigüe resurfaced with renewed force. With the addition of Laurent Denis – a versatile metal guitarist – the band now weaves a dense, hypnotic tapestry of industrial rock, goth-electro, and brooding metal, revisiting their four-album legacy with a sharper, more immersive intensity.
Cigüe is back – darker, louder, and unstoppable.
