Gwazi Celebrates a Decade of Punk Fury with Return to the Indigo Inn

Ten years deep and still thrashing forward, Gwazi returns this fall with their most ambitious release yet, Return to the Indigo Inn — a sprawling double album that bridges past and present with raw energy, punk attitude, and hard-earned grit. The album drops November 28, 2025 , via Jib Machine Records .

Formed by Brandon Youngs and John Templeman , Gwazi was born out of a creative spark during the 2015 RPM Challenge, where the duo’s debut, The Rise and Fall of the Indigo Inn , came together as a one-off project. But the chemistry was undeniable, and what started as an experiment quickly became a decade-long partnership that refuses to fade out quietly.

Over the last ten years, Gwazi has built a solid underground presence with four full-length albums, three EPs, and six singles , earning a reputation for their ability to blend punk, metal, and hard rock without ever losing their DIY edge. Their songs have appeared in indie films and compilation albums, pushing their sound far beyond the borders of Ohio.

Now, with Return to the Indigo Inn , Gwazi comes full circle — and levels up. The double LP features ten brand-new originals paired with eleven reimagined covers that pay homage to the bands that shaped them. Think Bad Religion , Dead Kennedys , and Municipal Waste — that classic punk ferocity with a modern production punch.

The album was produced by John Templeman and Brandon Youngs , with Brandon handling tracking, mixing, and mastering duties , ensuring every riff and shout stays true to Gwazi’s signature no-frills, high-octane sound.

“ This record is a reflection of everything we’ve done and everything we still want to do, ” says Youngs. “ It’s a look back at where we started, but it’s also a reminder that we’re not done yet. Not even close. ”

From the filthy basements of Cleveland to playlists across the globe, Gwazi proves that the underground spirit of punk is alive, kicking, and still swinging hard after a decade.
