JESSE BLAKE RUNDLE returns with “Continuous, Wait”, a jagged, electric guitar-driven meditation on stasis, belief, and the lifelong reckoning with the after effects of religion.
Rundle got the inspiration from a chat with a friend. He says, “My friend once said to me ‘Maybe god is in the ceiling, not in the heavens’ and since then that image has just stuck with me. Maybe I was looking in the wrong place.”
That inspired the opening line “can’t stop yourself from looking towards the ceiling, for a sign now, of a god now.” And from there, it evolved into a meditation on all the big feelings when you’re waiting for a sign from a god that can’t speak.
Lizzy Ellison, co-producer on the track, brings her vocal talent to the forefront with haunting harmonies floating throughout.
“Continuous, Wait” is the lead single from Rundle’s 4th album, Wait, Sky.
