Enter the void and confront salvation itself—Like Sorrow return with The Harrowing, a blistering dive into theological horror and sonic damnation. Told from the perspective of Christ descending into Hell, this track turns sacred scripture inside out, using the apocalyptic vision of the Harrowing of Hell to ask uncomfortable, urgent questions about justice, privilege, and salvation.
With punishing drums by Nick Manka and a soul-ripping guitar solo by Trevor O’Connor, “The Harrowing” is both majestic and terrifying—an infernal hymn that stirs ancient flames and modern fury alike. It’s the sound of cosmic reckoning, wrapped in melodic black metal’s icy, glorious embrace.
He descended. He questioned. And now he sings for the damned.

Biography
Emerging from the depths of Austin, Texas, Like Sorrow is the latest chapter in Melodic Black Metal, forged by the visionary Marc Williams. What began as a side project in 2023 has grown into something far greater—an exploration of pure Black Metal, infused with Marc’s signature melodic touch. The result echoes the haunting atmospheres of early Throes of Dawn, Agathodaimon, and hints of Naglfar, weaving together spectral tales, infernal realms, and deep-seated melancholy.
Like Sorrow made its debut in 2023 with the Realm of Despair EP, released digitally and on cassette via Rotting Sun Records. This was followed by four singles throughout late 2023 and 2024, culminating in A Collection of Despair (2023-2024), released on January 22, 2025.
While the project’s early tracks strip away the prominent keyboards found in Marc’s other works, this is set to evolve. Future releases will expand upon Like Sorrow’s intense, sorrowful essence, blending bleak, soul-staining darkness with the evocative melodies that define its sound. A harrowing yet captivating journey awaits—one that lingers in the shadows, calling to those who embrace the void.
