From the underground pulse of British Columbia, Canada, Rat Silo return with “Kick’Em In The Head” a defiant, riff-driven indie rock explosion that punches straight through the noise of modern media chaos.
Blending post-rock textures with raw punk urgency, Rat Silo have built a reputation for bending genres without breaking their edge. Founded in 2007 by Jim Newton (formerly of Sons of Freedom), the band has consistently evolved, layering electronically enhanced acoustic instruments with thunderous rhythm and razor-sharp songwriting. “Kick’Em In The Head” is their latest statement: loud, unapologetic, and unfiltered.
Driven by a chant-along chorus and pounding drums, the track channels frustration into momentum. Lyrics like “Fake news bullshit attack / The same old song” and “We’re immune to what the world can bring” cut through with biting clarity, capturing the emotional fatigue of an overstimulated world. Yet instead of retreating, Rat Silo push forward, fists up, eyes high, amplifiers blazing.
The song feels built for crowded rooms and raised voices, a gritty fusion of indie rock grit and alt-rock muscle. It’s protest energy wrapped in distortion, rhythm, and hooks that refuse to let go.
With a lineup that has included members connected to influential Canadian acts and production collaborations with acclaimed producer Dave Ogilvie, Rat Silo continue to refine their sonic assault while staying fiercely independent.
“Kick’Em In The Head” isn’t about blind rage, it’s about refusing to be dulled into silence. It’s about resilience. Immunity. Standing your ground when the noise gets loud.
BC’s underground just got louder.
