MEPHISTO ODYSSEY DROPS 2026 REMASTER OF THE LEGENDARY“CRUCIFIED DUB” MIX OF STATIC-X’S “PUSH IT” — WAYNE STATIC’SFIRST CREATIVE COLLABORATION WITH MIKAEL JOHNSTON — TOMARK THE TRACK’S RIAA GOLD CERTIFICATION

Dark, driving rework from the original 1999 maxi-single gets fresh sonic life and new visual as Static-X’s evil-disco classic finally claims its gold milestone

San Francisco Bay Area / Los Angeles, CA — May 13, 2026 — In direct commemoration of Static-X’s
iconic 1999 single “Push It” (from the platinum debut Wisconsin Death Trip) earning its first-ever RIAA
Gold certification on April 21, 2026, Mephisto Odyssey founder Mikael Johnston has unleashed a
powerful new 2026 remaster of his legendary “Crucified Dub” version. Originally released on the
official Push It maxi-single, this dark, hypnotic rework now returns with updated sonics from
Johnston’s Pop Twist Studios and a brand-new video with visuals by Matt Zane.
This release carries deep personal and artistic weight. The original 1999 Crucified Dub was the very first
collaboration between Mikael Johnston and the late Static-X frontman and visionary Wayne Static.
Wayne actively gave creative input while the version was being created and loved the final result. That

spark ignited a lasting creative partnership that went on to produce landmark works including the co-
written “CRASH” (featured on the Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker soundtrack with a high-profile

Len Wiseman-directed video starring both Wayne and Mikael), Mephisto Odyssey’s remix of Static-X’s
“Cold,” and more.
“This was the first thing Wayne Static and I ever collaborated on,” says Johnston. “He actually gave input on this
version as it was being created and he loved it! Which makes this release especially important because it sparked
our future collaborations including CRASH, my remix of Cold among many others.”
The remaster — handled personally by Johnston — preserves the raw, driving industrial-electronic
energy of the original while bringing it to modern standards for a new generation of fans. It arrives as

part of Mephisto Odyssey’s ongoing 2026 catalog revival, reconnecting pioneering San Francisco
industrial/electronic sounds with today’s audiences.

Mephisto Odyssey (Mikael Johnston) has been a driving force in the West Coast electronic and
industrial scene since 1993, delivering official remixes for Static-X, Jane’s Addiction, and others, plus
soundtrack placements (Hostel) and major-label releases on Warner Bros. The project’s deep ties to
Wayne Static and the nu-metal/industrial era make this remaster a timely and emotionally resonant
tribute.
