MYSANTHRIUM are vassals for an Ancient Entity, conveyed as a 3-piece musical art project from Cape Town, South Africa playing Doomed Death Metal.
MYSANTHRIUM started in Feb 2022 and played their first sermon on 2 Aug 2025 at the inaugural Slam Dank Fest in Johannesburg.
MYSANTHRIUM is derived from the word misanthrope, it is the spiritual element of misanthropy. They are vassals for an Ancient Entity that looks upon humanity with hatred due to what modern humanity is doing to the earth, in their short-sighted stupidity.
On stage, outfits and masks are worn. This serves two purposes, the Ancient Entity is channeled by each member, delivering the sermon, and the masks and outfits hide the humanity/people behind the music, as who they are means nothing. The sermon is all.
