New Single Release: i Helvete unveils new single inspired by the art of Hugo Simberg
i Helvete’s third album is getting closer while the release date is set to 6th of November 2026. The band has released the third and last single from the upcoming album Halla. Combining melodic black and death metal, i Helvete’s new song ‘Päätösmatka’ includes various instruments like violin, piano and vibraphone but also a massive choir in the choruses. The album’s first single Nälkätalvi was selected as one of Metal Hammer’s Tracks of the Week alongside 11 other songs.
“Halla is a theme album about old times when surviving against nature was a daily life struggle. Halla is a Finnish word and lazily translated means “frost”. It is a phenomenon, but in Finnish mythology it is also a fairytale character that destroys the fields with its coldness. All the single and album covers draw inspiration from the works of the Finnish painter Hugo Simberg (1873-1917), whose art also inspired us in our songwriting and composition process.” The band comments.

Band bio: Melodic black metal riffs, choir synths and catchiness from the modern metal. That’s how Finnish melodic black/death metal band
i Helvete swallows the listener to the edge of Northern Darkness.
The band took its first breath in 2018 by releasing double-single Pimeyden Ytimessä / Umpikuja. That was followed by debut album Sinisten Puiden Niitty (2021) and Yksi Yhteinen Yhteiskunta (2023). After some line-up changes during 2024, i Helvete is releasing their 3rd album Halla at the end of 2026.
First single Nälkätalvi was selected as one of Metal Hammer’s Tracks of the Week alongside 11 other songs. It was also added for example Season of Mist’s and Noble Demon Records’ Spotify playlists. Consisting of experienced musicians, i Helvete hasn’t played any gigs yet – it’s left to wait for the right moment. Instead, the band has focused on making new music.
