Bio: SCHISM:IX is a UK-based masked and anonymous metal collective comprised of three core members: vocalist Witness, a proud Scotsman, alongside Heretic and Warden, both originating from the southern coast of England. Defying conventional band dynamics, the trio has never shared a room together, instead crafting their entire discography across digital distances. This unconventional process stands as a testament to their dedication and commitment to their art, overcoming challenges few bands encounter while forging a cohesive and uncompromising sound.
Musically, SCHISM:IX refuses to be confined by the boundaries of any single subgenre. While firmly rooted in metal, their debut EP THE PAIN WITHIN—featuring the single “BURN WITH ME”—demonstrates a fearless approach to experimentation and progression. With a sound that continuously evolves, the band positions itself at the intersection of intensity, atmosphere, and conceptual storytelling, signalling a bold and unpredictable future.
Visually and conceptually, SCHISM:IX draws from a striking blend of found footage aesthetics, analog horror, surreal imagery, gothic influences, and psychological inspiration reminiscent of Silent Hill. Their music is presented as “Entries,” transmissions delivered by Witness, who acts as both narrator and messenger. Each release builds upon an unfolding narrative centred around the cryptic declaration that “paradise is a lie,” a theme that remains deliberately shrouded in mystery as the project evolves.
