Parthian Unveils Monumental Progressive Death Metal Single "Martyrless" from Upcoming Album Mortuorum

Wichita, Kansas – Progressive Death Metal outfit Parthian is set to release their highly anticipated single “Martyrless” on March 15, 2025 , from their upcoming concept album, Mortuorum , out April 20, 2025 . The single offers a ferocious first glimpse into Mortuorum —an introspective, fearless exploration of life, death, and resilience, blending brutal death metal with moments of surprising beauty.

Mortuorum is a deeply personal album for the band, crafted during a time of devastating personal loss. During the recording process, vocalist Adam lost his father and great uncle, drummer DJ lost his uncle, bassist Jacky and his wife tragically lost a child midterm, and lead guitarist Justin ’s wife is currently battling cancer. In the face of grief, Parthian channeled their pain into a powerful musical journey, creating one of the most ambitious and cathartic collections in their career.

“We wanted Mortuorum to be an exploration of death and the way it affects us, not just as individuals but as a collective. We experienced loss, but we also experienced an ability to support each other and bounce back, and that’s something we wanted to convey with this album,” said Adam , the band’s vocalist.

The album opens with the heavy-hitting single “Martyrless” —a relentless track that sets the tone for Mortuorum ‘s fierce, progressive sound. To accompany the single, the band also released a music video where they become victims in an 80s-style slasher film.

As Mortuorum progresses, tracks like “Viscera of Eternal Damnation” combine frenetic shredding with surprising country-infused riffs, and “Kingdom of Scorn” features a whimsical musical theater break, blending metal with theatrical storytelling in a thrilling and unexpected way.

Other highlights include “Witches of Deliverance” , a death metal powerhouse with an orchestral break, and the album’s closer, “Blasphemian Rhapsody” —an ambitious, riff-driven epic that takes inspiration from Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody but introduces a metal twist with neo-soul and Beatles-esque elements.
