Ingolstadt, Germany – After 25 years of relentless riff warfare, German death metal veterans Rotting Empire have officially unleashed their crushing new full-length album, Images Of War, out now as of April 10, 2026.

Serving as both a tribute to their origins and a statement of continued dominance, Images Of War sees the band revisiting and re-recording material from their earliest days, including the resurrected title track originally featured on their 2006 demo. Now reforged with modern production and decades of sharpened aggression, the album delivers a devastating blend of old-school spirit and contemporary power.

Rotting Empire have long stood as a cornerstone of the German underground, forging a sound rooted in classic European death metal while injecting groove-heavy brutality and a touch of Florida-style grit. Formed in 2000 near Ingolstadt, the band has played over 100 shows and shared stages with heavyweights including Kataklysm, Crowbar, Asphyx, Grave, Vader, Six Feet Under, Fleshcrawl, and Vomitory. From major festival appearances like Braincrusher Festival and Mammut Festival to relentless club gigs, Rotting Empire have built their reputation the old-school way, by grinding it out onstage and earning every scar.

Their previous releases, Sui Generis (2012) and Buried In The Past (2022), laid the groundwork, but Images Of War brings things full circle. It’s a battle-hardened record that bridges past and present with zero compromise.
