SLADE BROOKS "Stomp Yo Feet" about unity and coming together on issues

“Stomp Yo Feet” marks the 5th and final advance single from Pacific Northwest based artist SLADE BROOKS from his upcoming EP “The Missing Piece of My Darkened Heart” releasing on streaming platforms on February 17, 2026.

Blending various elements including a Chili Peppers style funky lead bass, jazzy “call and answer” trumpet improv, a hip-hop style drum pocket with sampling, and pop style vocals with protest song lyrics, “Stomp Yo Feet” will get you on your feet and moving to the groove.

A testament to the deeper concept of the track, Brooks states, “I wanted to write a song that wasn’t about any specific issues in politics. Greed is something that will always be an issue and I think that’s what makes the song timeless. I wanted a song that was more about unity and coming together on issues we’re passionate about. It was meant to be sung by a massive group of people to help ease the tension. In my mind people are marching outside their state capitol building or even the White House singing this song while dancing and having a good time. Who could be mad at that?”
