Remmel & Rattlesnakes’ debut EP (Little Western Songs From The North) gets a follow-up as the single “Stars Align” hits the airwaves today. The single is released by Oulu-based Palabell Records and distributed by Playground Music Finland.
“When life has its dark moments, you find yourself hoping you could just enjoy the simple things. You might tell yourself, ‘I’m not asking for much, just a little.’ This song was born out of those kinds of feelings. It captures the vibe of late summer and early fall, which is why this song ended up being released now. The next songs are also already finished,” Remmel says about the track and what’s to come.

The song was created in close collaboration with producer Jarkko Viinamäki. Remmel & Rattlesnakes is a music collective, and the lineup can vary from one release to the next. As a result, according to Remmel, the approach taken this time differed from that of the previous release.
“There’s no fixed lineup for this project, although Viinamäki and drummer Esa Starck form the core of the group. This time the drummer was unavailable, so Jarkko and I played and sang all the parts during the recording sessions. I hadn’t played drums in a studio in years, but it all came together. Jarkko played bass, sang backing vocals, and we played guitars and other instruments together. Remmel & Rattlesnakes is important to me, as are the people involved in it. We make music among friends, and we believe that comes across…”
Remmel & Rattlesnakes is a solo band and music collective founded in 2025 by Remmel, the singer-guitarist of Steve’n’Seagulls, a band that tours extensively in Finland and abroad. The songs are primarily conceived in his head and are then brought to life collaboratively. In addition to producer-musician Jarkko Viinamäki and drummer Esa Starck, a varying number of friends and local musicians make guest appearances on the tracks.
