A Sonic Manifesto for Change, Beauty, and Resilience in a Burning World
Experimental collective torpedo unveils its newest musical opus, ‘What the Fucked Do We All Do Now? | – Lights’, an unflinching, poetic call to action in the face of global self-destruction. Part protest, part prayer, part ritual, this 47-minute sonic journey is a genre-defying blend of noise rock, post-rock, punk, psychedelia, and experimental textures — and it arrives as both a philosophical question and an artistic act of resistance.
The first part of the album is available now on 12″ vinyl (released June 27), accompanied by a limited-edition fanzine and poster. A second 10″ vinyl release is scheduled for late summer/early fall.
“We ask the bonds unifying everything be beautified and healed.”
At its core, What the Fucked Do We All Do Now? | – Lights is a musical and political manifesto. It is a celebration of beauty, a plea for empathy, and a challenge to the status quo — echoing voices that are feminist, non-binary, ecological, anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist, anti-war, and anti-oppression. It is a nonviolent resistance through sound, seeking harmony in a dissonant world.
…For the record…
torpedo is a noise rock and psychedelic post-punk trio based in Lausanne, Switzerland. Since 2016, the band has carved out a unique sonic identity, blending raw guitars, hypnotic basslines, industrial textures, and poetic urgency. Emerging from a psychedelic duo into a fully-formed trio, torpedo released their debut LP Sphynx in 2019, followed by the ambitious, collage-driven Orpheo_ Nebula in 2022 — a critically praised “devastated opera” recorded during the pandemic.
The band has toured the U.S. West Coast twice and released a string of experimental singles, including HOPE | DREAM and La Mer Ondulée. In 2025, torpedo returns with their most visceral and politically charged work to date: What the Fucked Do We All Do Now? | – Lights, a sonic manifesto for resilience and radical beauty, out via Broken Clover Records.
