Warrior Pope’s “A Morbid Parody of Justice”

Hi, got an album due out end of May, on Bandcamp, streaming platforms
(via Distrokid) to follow. Would love to have a review to put about
(even if its bad, bad reviews validate reviewing, and band in no
position to be picky about what sort of attention we get). So I’ve put
together hopefully all the useful stuff for you to checkout out the
record, and write us a review. We are a doom band from Bristol, UK,
it’s our fourth proper record, all very DIY and independent. This one
is themed on the history of The Cadaver Synod, but someone already
used that name. Also there is a guest appearance from the singer of
GWAR, and Kepone, which is super exciting for me at least.

Be ideal if you can credit the relevant photographers for the photos
you use, names are in the file titles, and tags/links in the text
file.

If something doesn’t work, or I’ve done a dumb and forgotten to
include something important please let me know, I’m gonna be sending
this out a bunch and be ideal if they don’t all have a dumb in.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Oli Foxen (bass)

P.S. Here’s the text from the bio and credits file, it’s just text so
figure might as well:

Band bio
Short one: A doom band from Bristol. The new album “A Morbid Parody of
Justice” is due out at the end of May on Bandcamp, and streaming will
follow at a later date.

Long one:
Warrior Pope has been around for a fair while now, in various
incarnations built around Oli, a bass, and a bunch of vintage valve
amps. Solidified into a doom band format with the addition of Katya on
drums. Three proper albums out and some lives/collabs. Mostly
presented as doom, but plenty of black, post and stoner metal going
on, always liked mixing it up some.

Album bio

It’s a history of the Cadaver Synod told in metal. Written and honed
gigging 2023, recorded over 3 days in the live room of our practice
space in 2024, then mixed very slowly over the rest of the year. This
album is the result of post pandemic lockdown reconstruction, new
members, wikipedia rabbithole theme, and a buncha miserable riffs from
sitting on the sofa with an acoustic bass and fuck all to do.
Professor Mike Bishop of Kepone and GWAR kindly contributed some
spoken word which is incredibly exciting.  This album features Jack
Andrews on guitar, also of Death by Gimp, and David Burke, who is
doing a PHD in heavy metal studies, and is also in Absent Signifier,
and a frequent collaborator with improv band Permit Me These Small
Miseries. Katya has been playing cymbals with a double bass bow during
this gig/album cycle and people have been very excited about it.
