Brazilian rock and metal powerhouse releases “No Matter How Much You Feel Alive”, a raw live recording featuring special guests, and sets the stage for his next chapter.
Brazilian singer, multi-instrumentalist and producer Fabiano Negri, one of the most distinctive voices in South America’s rock and metal scene, marks his 30-year career milestone with the release of the live album No Matter How Much You Feel Alive. Captured on July 20th, 2024 at Clube da Música in Campinas (São Paulo), the record is now available worldwide on all streaming platforms.

Known for a prolific independent discography sung entirely in English, Negri chose to immortalize the occasion with a celebratory concert. “It’s not every day you hit 30 years in rock, singing in English in Brazil, with more than 30 records released as an independent artist. That deserves a celebration — and what better way than with a live album to capture the chaos of it all,” he says with a laugh.
Mixed and mastered by Negri himself, the record reflects the energy and spontaneity of the night. “It was an absurdly fun evening. The jam vibe lasted from start to finish. Everyone was smiling on stage. The album is 100% live, imperfections and all — but those imperfections belong to musicians who knew exactly what they were doing. No overdubs, no playback. Just pure, real, unpredictable rock ’n’ roll,” he adds.

The concert featured a lineup of special guests drawn from across Negri’s three-decade journey, including Tony Monteiro and Joni Leite (Dusty Old Fingers), Ric Parma (Unsuspected Soul Band), André Baida, Vinícius Prado and Pedro Sampietri (Spaceship), Ric Matos and Victor Marcellus (Rei Lagarto), as well as the original lineup of his current band Bebê Diabo. “These are musicians who were part of different bands and projects throughout my career. Sharing the stage with them again was both nostalgic and inspiring,” Negri reflects.
But the celebration doesn’t stop here. As Negri approaches his 50th birthday this November, he has announced a series of upcoming projects, including the long-awaited remaster and digital release of the complete discography of Rei Lagarto — a band that left a lasting mark on the Brazilian rock scene. “Rei Lagarto was hugely relevant in its prime, and I’m proud to make that music available again with proper sound quality. It’s an important part of my history, and of Brazilian rock as a whole,” he says.
Over the past few years, Negri has leaned deeper into heavy metal, cementing his reputation as one of the most versatile figures in the national scene. Albums like ZebathY (2022) and Mysteries The Night Hides (2023) pushed into darker, more conceptual territories, while his most recent record with Bebê Diabo, The Outlaw’s Journey (2025), fused metal’s weight with the swagger of ’70s hard rock.
With No Matter How Much You Feel Alive, Fabiano Negri delivers more than a live album: it’s a bold statement from an artist who continues to create, experiment and challenge himself after three decades on stage. Raw, unfiltered, and defiantly independent — this is rock as it’s meant to be lived.
