Dutch industrial alt-metal project First World Appetite has officially unleashed its new full-length album Angel Shades Demise, available now as of June 12th, alongside the release of a brand-new lyric video for “Don’t Run From Demons (Walk Among Them)”.
This dual release marks the most complete and immersive chapter yet in the First World Appetite universe, combining music and visual storytelling into one continuous psychological descent.
Angel Shades Demise is built on industrial aggression, nu metal weight, and cinematic atmosphere, pushing deeper into themes of mental health, identity collapse, internal conflict, and modern pressure. The album moves like a controlled breakdown, precise in structure but chaotic in emotion.
The newly released lyric video “Don’t Run From Demons (Walk Among Them)” expands that world further, reinforcing the idea that confrontation replaces escape, and survival comes through acceptance of the darker edges within.
SOUND AND INFLUENCES
First World Appetite pulls from the industrial foundation of Ministry, the theatrical darkness of Marilyn Manson, and the heavy groove-driven intensity of Rob Zombie, while also carrying the modern aggression of Slipknot and Korn.
The result is a sound that feels mechanical yet deeply human, built for impact, not comfort.
ABOUT FIRST WORLD APPETITE
Formed in 2017 by Ronald de Groot, First World Appetite is built on confrontation rather than escapism. The project explores mental health struggles, identity fracture, societal decay, and the psychological weight of modern existence.
Previous releases include LXIV (2022) and a 2024 industrial reinterpretation of Tom Waits’ “Goin’ Out West,” continuing a consistent evolution of raw, unfiltered expression.
