Highly regarded as a revelation of the Romanian Black Metal scene, Mauna Sol, announces its long-awaited debut album. Titled “The Calling“, it will be released in the spring of this year in collaboration with Loud Rage Music. More details, as well as the first single taken from “The Calling“, will be revealed soon.
Mauna Sol is a post-black metal band from Brașov, Romania, formed in 2019 by five musicians who sought to channel their diverse musical backgrounds and inner darkness through black metal.
While their sound is rooted in traditional extreme metal, the music is built around a short tale written by George, the band’s frontman. Each song explores specific parts of this narrative, shifting between raw intensity and melancholic nuances, enriching the dynamic range of their sound.
Lyrically, the songs give voice to a self-imposed hermit. He recounts his journey toward personal rebirth through a ‘suicide of identity’ – a grueling process set within a hostile desert, where the old self must be shed to allow for the new.

MAUNA SOL anunță albumul de debut The Calling
Revelația scenei Black Metal brașovene, formația Mauna Sol, anunță mult-așteptatul album de debut. Intitulat “The Calling”, acesta va fi lansat în primăvara acestui an în colaborare cu Loud Rage Music. Mai multe detalii, precum și primul single extras de pe “The Calling”, vor fi dezvăluite în curând.
Mauna Sol este o trupă de post-black metal din Brașov, formată în 2019 de cinci muzicieni care au dorit să își canalizeze diversele experiențe muzicale și întunericul interior prin intermediul black metal-ului.
Deși sunetul lor este înrădăcinat în metalul extrem tradițional, muzica este construită în jurul unei povești scrise de George, solistul trupei. Fiecare piesă explorează fragmente din această narațiune, oscilând între intensitate brută și nuanțe melancolice, ceea ce îmbogățește paleta dinamică a sunetului lor.
Din punct de vedere liric, piesele dau glas unui rătăcitor transformat în pustnic prin proprie voință. Acesta își spune povestea despre încercarea de renaștere personală prin „sinuciderea identității” – un proces dureros desfășurat într-un deșert ostil, unde vechiul eu trebuie să piară pentru a lăsa loc noului.
