Serpents Oath have unleashed their latest black metal ritual with the lyric video for “Gateways to Tiamat” , the venomous highlight from their 2024 album Revelation (Odium Records). The new video is out now , delivering a dark, immersive experience for fans of Watain, Dark Funeral, and Dissection .
Forged in Belgium’s underground metal scene, Serpents Oath began as a trinity of extreme metal adepts, uniting under a shared vision of chaos and transformation. Their debut Nihil (2020, Soulseller Records) instantly established their reputation for raw, nihilistic power. The expanded lineup followed with Ascension (2022), a brutal evolution that set the stage for Revelation (2024) — a testament to their unrelenting ascent in the black metal pantheon.
Produced and mastered by Yarne Heylen at Project Zero Studio , “Gateways to Tiamat” channels ritualistic energy into sound — a hymn to the ancient Serpent that devours and renews all creation. As frontman Tes Re Oth declares:
“The vision behind the band is one of transformation. This shines through first and foremost in the lyrics and is carried through in the cover art and other visuals. The transformation is that of an individual striving to become transhuman with the ultimate goal of beating even Death. This is the ultimate rebellion as even Death is not accepted as a given.”
The lyric video, featuring artwork by Néstor Avalos , merges image, word, and sound into one overwhelming invocation — a true opening of the Gate.
